UPK information

The Marlboro Central School District (MCSD) is now accepting applications for its Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program for the 2026-2027 school year.

The District anticipates approximately 85 tentative student seats for the upcoming school year. Placement in the UPK program is determined through a random lottery process and is not first come, first served.

The online application period runs through February 27, 2026. Families may access the application here.

To be eligible for the UPK program, children must:

  • Reside within the Marlboro Central School District, and

  • Be four years old on or before December 1, 2026.

The MCSD partners with several community-based organizations (CBOs) to provide high-quality UPK programming. Participating providers for next year include:

  • Pattycake Playhouse II

  • Stepping Stones I

  • Stepping Stones II

  • Little Friends

Registration Requirements

Families applying for the Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program must submit the following documentation:

  • A birth certificate for the child

  • Proof of residency, including at least one primary and one supplementary document

  • A health and dental exam, including immunizations, completed within the last calendar year

  • Identification of the parent or guardian

  • An Individualized Education Program (IEP), if applicable

  • Custody or foster care documentation, if applicable
