The Marlboro Central School District welcomes Jessica Torok as its new Assistant Superintendent of Instruction.
Torok brings 19 years of experience in education and has dedicated her career to improving teaching and learning through instructional leadership, curriculum development, and strong partnerships with students, staff, and families.
Before joining Marlboro, Torok spent 10 years with the Rondout Valley Central School District. She began her tenure as Director of Curriculum before serving as Assistant Principal and, most recently, Principal of Rondout Valley High School.
Torok began her career as a secondary mathematics teacher, where she discovered the lasting impact educators can have on students' lives. She later joined Ulster BOCES and Dutchess BOCES as an instructional specialist, leading regional initiatives focused on curriculum development and alignment, instructional technology integration, Common Core implementation, and the design of meaningful assessments to support student achievement.
Throughout her career, Torok has built strong relationships with staff, students, and families while creating learning environments where every student feels supported, challenged, and empowered to succeed. She believes schools thrive when they foster a culture of trust, collaboration, and high expectations.
Torok earned her bachelor's degree from SUNY Oneonta before completing master's degrees in Adolescent Literacy (Grades 5–12) and Instructional Technology. She later earned her administrative certification through SUNY New Paltz.
A lifelong Hudson Valley resident, Torok was born and raised in Saugerties and has spent most of her life in the region. Outside of her work in education, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and exploring new places and cultures.
"I couldn't be more excited to join the Marlboro team," said Torok. "From my very first visit, I felt the pride and sense of community throughout the district. I'm looking forward to building relationships, supporting our faculty and staff, celebrating the outstanding work already taking place, and collaborating to create meaningful, engaging learning opportunities for every student. This is an exciting new chapter, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to join and serve the Marlboro community."
The District is excited to welcome Torok to the Marlboro community and looks forward to the leadership, experience, and enthusiasm she will bring to students, staff, and families.
