Principal MMS

The Marlboro Central School District is pleased to welcome Alicia Gannello as the new principal of Marlboro Middle School.

Gannello brings more than 18 years of experience in education, beginning her career as a high school social studies teacher before transitioning into school administration. Throughout her career, she also served as a summer school principal for 10 years, lead teacher for her former district's evening high school program and lead tutor for an evening tutoring program.

She earned her bachelor's degree in history and her master's degree in curriculum and instruction from SUNY Plattsburgh before completing her Certificate of Advanced Study at SUNY New Paltz.

A lifelong Hudson Valley resident, Gannello grew up in Montgomery and returned to the region after college. She now lives in Walden with her husband, Ron, and their two American bulldogs, Mickey and Stormy. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time outdoors, whether relaxing by the pool with a good book, riding ATVs through the mud or snowmobiling during the winter.

"I am honored and grateful to have the opportunity to work with an outstanding faculty and staff as well as an incredible community," said Gannello. "I am excited to begin my work at Marlboro Middle School, and while I do not want to rush the summer away, I am looking forward to September when everyone returns to the building."

The District is excited to welcome Gannello to the Marlboro community and looks forward to the leadership, experience and enthusiasm she will bring to Marlboro Middle School.
