Fourteen members and two advisers from the Marlboro Middle School and Marlboro High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) chapters attended the New York State FCCLA Conference in Callicoon, NY, from March 18–20.
This year’s conference theme, “Step Into Your Spotlight,” brought energy and excitement to the event while highlighting leadership, team building, healthy living, public relations, and personal empowerment. Students took part in workshops and collaborative activities designed to strengthen their personal and professional skills.
Students also had the opportunity to showcase their talents through FCCLA’s Students Taking Action with Recognition (S.T.A.R.) Events. Marlboro participants included:
Alex Toromanides and Lukas Magyar, Repurpose and Redesign, Gold (national qualifier)
Annalise Vittoria and Olivia Ortiz, Repurpose and Redesign, Silver (national qualifier)
Catherine Casella and Lexington Geigel, Community Service Display, Silver (national qualifier)
Emma Kovaci, Cupcake Decorating, Bronze
Maya Matos, Cupcake Decorating, Bronze
In addition, Marlboro High School students Gianna Jarvis, Julian Herrera, and Olivia Morales served as evaluators, supporting event assessments and participant interviews throughout the conference.
The chapter also celebrated a significant achievement as the New York State FCCLA inducted Ava Vicari and Fiona Rutigliano as officers for the 2026–2027 term. Vicari will serve as vice president of community service, and Rutigliano will serve as vice president of membership and alumni associates.
FCCLA advisers Mrs. Zehnacker and Mrs. Roeder shared their pride in the students’ dedication, leadership, and accomplishments and look forward to seeing all they continue to achieve.
