Marlboro Middle School’s annual Power-Up Night on November 10 energized the school community with an evening of learning, collaboration, and inspiration. The event brought together families, staff, and students for workshops designed to strengthen home–school connections and empower learners of all ages.

Parents and guardians explored a wide range of informative sessions led by District leaders and community experts. Topics included Family Engagement for Student Success with Assistant Superintendent Robin Hecht; The Evolving Field of A.I.: What Parents Should Know with Superintendent Michael Rydell and Director of Business and Finance Emerson Segara; and Building a Reading Culture at Home with Marlboro Middle School educators Travis Merrick and Fallon-Grace Wynkoop. Other workshops offered practical guidance on internet safety, college preparation, and family wellness.

While adults attended their sessions, students enjoyed pizza and bingo before participating in career workshops exploring fields such as engineering, culinary arts, education, graphic design, sports, and business.

The success of Power-Up Night was made possible through the efforts of the Power-Up Committee, along with the support of PTA members, Principal Debra Clinton, Assistant Principal Demian Stanmyer, and numerous faculty, staff, custodial, and operations team members. Special thanks were also extended to the Marlboro Central School District administrators, the Members of the National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society, and the many volunteers who helped make the evening possible.

It was truly a night filled with energy, connection, and community spirit—a wonderful example of what happens when families and schools come together to power up for student success!
