D Day

Calling all animal lovers! FYE is sponsoring a pet supply drive to support the Humane Society of Walden. Items needed most are: Wet cat & kitten food (pâté preferred- Friskies or Fancy Feast); Dry cat food (Purina One or Purina Cat Chow); Iams dry dog + puppy food; Any brand canned dog + puppy food; Cat toys Dog toys (tennis balls, tug toys); Paper towels; Blue Dawn dish soap (for flea baths). Any donations can be dropped off with Mrs. Milkins in room 13 until October 31.

Yearbook Club will meet on Wednesday, October 15, in room 10 after school.

The Leo Club needs your help!! We are holding a food drive for the month of October to collect for a family in need from our school community. Please bring food items to room 228 and drop them off to Ms. Becker. Thank you for your support!!

Come Celebrate Noche’ Hispana! Please join us in the MHS Cafeteria on Thursday, October 16, as we celebrate "Noche’ Hispana" from 5 to 7 PM.

We will have a modified schedule and end of day Pep Rally on Friday, October 17.  The bell schedule for the day is located at the bottom of this email.  We will also be taking a Class of 2026 Senior Photo at the beginning of 8th period on Friday, October 17.  Seniors will be called to the Turf Field by the public address system at approximately 12:25 PM.  

Our next Student Voice meeting will be on Monday, October 27 at 12:57 PM (8th period) in room 118.  

Dukes Care invites you to come watch Coraline after school in Room 13 on Wednesday, October 29th. Interested students should bring a suggested donation of $3 to Mrs. Milkins ASAP to reserve your seat!

Creative Writing Club: On Thursday, October 30, at 2:30 PM, we will have our Tales and Terrors event in the Media Center.

Seniors: Upstate Images will be here one more time on October 30, from 7am-5pm, to take senior portraits. You must call them at 855-773-3321 to schedule an appointment. If this date does not work you may also go to their studio located in New Paltz. All senior portraits must be submitted by November 21, 2025. Also, please check your Class of 2026 Google Classroom for important Yearbook information.

School Counseling Office:

  • Marlboro High school is administering the PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test) on Saturday, October 18 from 7:30 AM until 11:30 AM.  The test is geared toward high school juniors as a preparation for the SAT college admission test.  Registration flyers can be found in the school counseling office and attached to this email.  The PSAT costs $18.00 and the registration deadline is Friday, October 3.  Students must be registered in advance in order to take the exam and must bring their chromebooks for this 100% digital exam.  

  •  MHS is hosting a College & Trade Fair on Wednesday, October 15.  Michael Roe from Dutchess Community College will give an opening welcome at 6:00 PM.  This will be followed at 6:30 by a Career & Trade Fair in our cafeteria and our College Night in our gymnasium.    

  • The MHS School Counseling Office is hosting a trip to Iona College & Pace University on October 22.  Interested students can sign up for the trip and receive a parent permission form in the School Counseling Office. 

  • The MHS School Counseling Office has organized an Instant Decision Week.  Please see the attached flyer for colleges and trade schools that are offering an instant admission decision to students October 14-17 and on November 5.  

  • Dutchess Community College is hosting a comprehensive Aviation Program Open House on  Saturday, October 25.  The event is open to all and will take place at the DCC hangar at the Dutchess County Airport from 10 AM until 1 PM.  This is an opportunity for students and families to learn about DCC's degrees & certification programs which include; Pilot, Aviation Maintenance Technician & Aviation Management.  

  • All students taking AP Exams in May of 2026 must register for the exams in the MHS School Counseling Office.  The cost is $99.00 per exam.  Students should discuss any questions related to exams and cost with their school counselor.  The registration deadline is November 1, 2025.
