At the Marlboro Central School District, we’re proud of our student-athletes, coaches, and fans who make our athletic programs a source of school spirit and community pride. As we cheer on our teams each season, we ask all spectators to help us create a positive, respectful environment for everyone. Be Loud, Be Proud, Be Positive! Spectators play an important role in promoting good sportsmanship. Please:
Demonstrate a high degree of respect and sportsmanship at all times.
Cheer for your team with positive comments and encouragement.
Respect the judgment of coaches, officials, and referees.
Remember that athletic events are extensions of the classroom—school rules apply both home and away.
Keep fields, courts, and sidelines as the players’ domain during contests.
Monitor the safety of children in the stands and bleachers.
Respect and follow directions from school officials and event supervisors.
Refrain from using noise makers, horns, or bells at indoor events (outdoor use is at the discretion of staff).
Avoid throwing objects, using tobacco, alcohol, or any substances—our campuses and events are smoke- and substance-free zones.
Student Attendance at Athletic Events
Please be aware of the procedures in place for student attendance at athletic events:
All non-high school students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The students must remain with this parent or guardian for the entirety of the game.
Attendance for all games will be capped at a manageable number of spectators. After we have reached capacity, no additional spectators will be allowed to enter.
All students who enter the game will not be allowed to re-enter once they leave the stadium or event.
Only students from the participating schools will be allowed to enter the game.
No backpacks, string bags, duffel bags, bottles, or drinks will be allowed into the game.
Addressing Unsportsmanlike Behavior
Negative comments or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and will be addressed.
Let’s model the respect, teamwork, and integrity we hope to see in our student-athletes. Thank you for helping us make Marlboro athletics a positive experience for all!
