FCCLA members

Twenty-one members of the Marlboro chapter of Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), along with their three advisers and other guests, attended the New York State (NYS) FCCLA Conference in Callicoon, NY from March 22-24. This annual conference allows students the opportunity to learn important skills for life, compete in community service-based events, and meet other FCCLA members from across the State. Many of our students were awarded medals in their events, and several qualified to compete at the National level this summer.

Other highlights of the conference included Natalie Terwilliger being installed as the new NYS Vice President of Public Relations, while Jackie Rivera and Samantha Carney ended their terms as 2022-2023 Vice President of Community Service and Vice President of Communications. Samantha was also awarded a $2,000 scholarship renewable for four years to the Culinary Institute of America for her skill demonstration in culinary arts. In addition, Gianna Faricellia ended her year-long role as a NYS Junior Leader.

The students and their advisors (Ann Marie Giacoia, Carolyn Roeder, and Chelsea Zehnacker) had a great three days and are looking forward to representing New York at the national convention in Colorado this summer!
