Pat Ryan reads to students

U.S. Congressman Pat Ryan visited Marlboro Elementary School on April 22 to read to Kindergarten, Grade 2, and Grade 3 students in honor of Earth Day. The chosen books highlighted the importance of reducing, reusing, recycling, and repairing to protect our environment.

Congressman Ryan was joined by Andrew Ruiz and Faith Shultz from the Ulster County 4-H Youth Development Program, who shared experiential learning opportunities available through their organization—including STEM, agriculture, healthy living, and civic engagement. These activities help students learn about environmental issues and take action to protect the planet, aligning with 4-H’s core values of head, heart, hands, and health.

We’re grateful to Congressman Ryan and our 4-H guests for inspiring our young learners to care for the Earth and become change makers in their communities!
