Mrs. LoSauro
Marlboro Elementary School
Special Education Teacher - Grade 5

My name is Doreen LoSauro and I am a 5th grade Special Education Teacher.  I am currently working with Mrs. Kathleen Appler.  This is my first year teaching at Marlboro Elementary School and I am really enjoying it.   Prior to joining the MES faculty, I taught Special Education in New Jersey for 4 years.  I taught Reading, Spelling, English, and Math to students ranging from K-6th grade.

My objective is to provide support to inclusive students who are having academic difficulties in all subject areas.  My teaching techniques are geared to meet individual needs and utilize hands-on instruction whenever possible.  I believe that the basis of a quality education is providing an environment where students are actively involved in the learning process.  Mrs. Appler and I teach collaboratively and implement classroom modifications for all mainstreamed students.

My goal is to uncover the most effective way of delivering a quality education, which enables each student to achieve his or her fullest potential.  The greatest attributes that I can give my students are my patience and recognition of their individual needs.  There is no greater feeling than to see the joy on a child’s face when they have achieved an understanding of a concept that had previously caused them to struggle.
