Community Progress Report
Elementary School Project Update
We are pleased to be moving forward on all three phases of the improvement plan to address issues at Milton, Middle Hope, and Marlboro elementary schools. As you may recall, this $33 million project was approved by voters on December 17, 2002.
Here is a report on our progress.
Phase 1 — This phase encompasses the construction of the new kindergarten addition and new mechanical/boiler room at Marlboro Elementary School.
 | Bids are planned to be received on March 11, 2004 and awarded soon after |
| Construction is scheduled to begin on or about April 1, 2004 |
| Completion is slated for Fall 2004 |
Phase 2 — This phase includes construction of a new grade 3-5 addition and renovations to the existing building at Marlboro Elementary School.
| Comprehensive construction plans were submitted to the State Education Department (SED) in November 2003 |
| We anticipate this review will be completed by the end of April 2004 |
| We anticipate construction documents will go out to bid in May 2004* |
| We anticipate construction will begin in Summer 2004* |
* Timeframe is contingent upon SED review schedule
Phase 3 — This phase is composed of additions, renovations, and upgrades to Milton and Middle Hope elementary schools.
| Design and construction documents are currently being prepared |
| We plan to submit these documents to the SED in Spring 2004 |
| We anticipate construction will begin in Spring 2005* |
